Governmental Law: Our firm represents local governments in applying the U.S. and State Constitution and applicable court decisions in connection with issues involving solid waste management, discrimination, freedom of speech, search and seizure protections, eminent domain and inverse condemnation, elections, prisoners' rights, and freedom of information. Public Nuisance Actions: Our firm has served as special prosecutor for the Solicitor of the 15th Judicial Circuit in prosecuting public nuisance actions on behalf of various local governments to abate public nuisances where constant illegal activities and disturbances of the public peace have negatively impacted community life. We have also represented local governments directly in bringing lawsuits to abate public nuisances.

Construction Law: Our firm handles construction disputes, including the filing and foreclosing of liens, litigation of contract disputes and warranty claims, and disputes with lenders and with neighboring property owners. Some representative cases are: Sunland Const. Co., Inc. v. City of Myrtle Beach, 2007 WL 2822509 (D.S.C. Sept. 26, 2007); Sunland Const. Co., Inc. v. Wilbur Smith, Inc., 387 F.App'x 361 (4th Cir. 2010); Carolina Winds Owners' Ass'n, Inc. v. Joe Harden Builder, Inc., 383 S.E.2d 463, 299 S.C. 224 (Ct.App. 1988); and Plaza Development Services v. Joe Harden Builder, Inc., 370 S.E.2d 893, 296 S.C. 115 (Ct.App. 1988).

Banking & Finance Law: Our firm assists lenders in formalizing and reviewing loan transactions, resolving claims involving accounts and collecting debts. Our firm represents commercial banks, credit unions, savings and thrifts, and holding companies. Some representative cases are: Peoples Federal Savings and Loan Ass'n of South Carolina v. Resources, 596 S.E.2d 51, 358 S.C. 460 (2004); Peoples Federal Sav. & Loan Ass'n. v. Business and Commercial Law: We provide business and commercial law services to clients, including formation of organizations; preparation, review and negotiation of contracts; documenting bulk transfers and secured transactions; and litigating claims concerning business and commercial operations. Some representative cases are: Jeffcoat v. Morris, 389 S.E.2d 159, 300 S.C. 526 (Ct.App. 1989); Emerson v. Powell, 321 S.E.2d 629, 283 S.C. 293 (Ct.App. 1984); and Mid-S. Mgt. Co. Inc. v.
